The subject of quality in runner performance at present.
Why beat the dog for chewing our wallets when we’re the ones who put that piece of rawhide in his bowl?
I rarely run anymore, and almost never solo since there are now several Wa/Mos that have Ascended in my guild just for Droks running (I've become our unofficial trainer). Like its been said, I make more money farming shells than I would with a bunch of 2k no paying scammers who are barely worth the hassle to report. Like most, I got into running more to prove to myself that I could and "for something to DO" when farming became too mind numbing to stand.
Sk8tborderx...how to put this. Welcome to the McDonalds Mentality. When GW was new, Droks runners were the Elite; the best of the best. But--thanks in no small part to guides like this one--everyone now feels like they can get into it. But they aren't as good (having a tendency to die when spawns aren’t “just right”) so they lower the price. There are more runners running Droks, so they charge less to compete.
And people pay them; Angus beef or soy meat, both do the job (presumably...eventually). Droks is a buyers market now.
And we created them. We create the very people we rail against, exacerbate the problem by freely sharing what we know so they can use it--or exploit it--to their own benefit. I don’t regret that, and I hope no one else who contributes to this guide—or any other—ever does. But expect it; accept it.

Yup I accept it. Most ppl I run have been scammed once, or had a runner that couldnt make it in 5 tries...that way the customers stay until a good one arrives. Atleast that's how it works in europe, there are a few Pro Runners that you see in beacons every day, advertising the same words over and over again. And there are those who run for 1K pay upfront...even with 5K prices ppl still come on the right time of day..

I don't think anet cares about us runners when it comes to reporting people for not paying.
Hey people will pay top dollar for the best so who's complaining about prices :P.

yeah it's always the same deal it seems.. I started charging half at snakes and grenths after sorrows and make them show the money up front.. saves alot of hassle with the guys that drop out at rankor.. on almost every run you hear the same things- I've been scammed or I've been on 5 runs and they could'nt make it lol another thing you hear almost every run- 'run forrest run!'.. this last weekend there was'nt much action with experienced players needing a run- even seen a runner who usually charges 4k charging 3.. wait till factions comes out maybe bring it back up.. if you remember there was a time before all the updates beacons was dead also

I don't feel like waiting there 3 hours cause there are 5 others that can't make the run but who charge 1-2k so everyone tries them first

I give them all rights to try the 1K guys first, once those runners are succesfull they will start asking 3K as well...Nothing to blame on those new 1K runners. It would be bad if they asked the 3-5K prices if they fail 5 times in a row and then make it. But for the ones who have already made many succesful runs.... Me myself? I only run where there is no one else advertising (if a second one comes in, I will keep advertising). Most of the runs I do is helping out those "test"runners anyways.

I think if people charged 3k, half that if they die twice, then it would be easy to fill up 3k groups in a flash. I just wish it was common practice when I need an alt run :P

The top 3 are lucky drops, LA, or the forums buy/sell.
The -2 +45 enchanted is a lucky drop or Malinons Shield from Sorrows Furnace. You can buy it in Deldrimore Warcamp.
The bottom 2 are collectors in the desert. Maps are available at on this site at wiki or xennon.

Depends on how long you want to farm and how much money you have but you can probably buy them from a frequent farmer rather cheap. Just don't pay more than 7K for them because some people actually sell the shield for 7K.

The blessed griffon wings can usually be bought for 1k (for all 5) if you're a bit patient. I rarely ever see them go for more than that.

An addition: I made it to droknar with my ranger (gogo gale valen, she helped me on the tactics) tough I'll stick with my w/mo for now :P way easier, there are certain spawns that are very hard for my ranger while doable with a w/mo

Humm...
Now I am usually able to solo to Droks with my W/E. I find it easier then a W/Mo. The best thing I find is that the Armour of Mist gives you a 33% boost. Which, in most positions looses a wurm chasing you where as 50% of the time 25% didnt loose them (This is going by my experiences it may not be the same for you).
So.. I know rangers have +33% on all their running skills. So, would it be possible to run it with a W/R. Rangers have 33% faster running speed and on 2 or 3 of their running skills they also offer a chance to dodge attacks. Now I have never run with a ranger because the armour is practically 0 next to a warrior. But with a warrior first profession then you'd have the armour and also access to the Balanced stance and other skills. So I came up with this;
Sprint
Charge (Maybe Escape for the 33% and dodge attacks)
Storm chaser
Dodge
Balanced Stance
Endure pain
Healing signet
For this space with my W/E I usually use IWS (I Will Survive) but maybe Disaplined Stance would work with a Ranger running skill to work quite nicely.
I havnt been home yet to give this a try but from thinking about it sounds like it could work. Please give me your feedback if you have already tryed Im sure you have.
